Former Speaker Eves: I enthusiastically support Michele Meyer

Oct. 17 -- To the Editor:
Voters in Eliot and parts of Kittery and South Berwick will get to choose a new State Representative for House District 2 this November. I am writing to give my enthusiastic support for Michele Meyer.
As a former Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, I have seen many examples of the qualities which make a member successful. An effective Representative must be a good listener, they must be willing to consider opposing viewpoints, they must have the courage of their convictions, and they must be bold. Michele Meyer meets this criteria.
Michele is a longtime nurse who has had to listen and make difficult decisions under difficult circumstances. She has been a watchdog for ethical local government, and she has taken bold, reasonable stances for families in this district, supporting lower property taxes, lower health care costs, and reasonable measures to prevent gun violence. It’s no wonder she has strong support from Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike.
On Nov. 6, I urge you to support Michele Meyer for the Maine House.
