June 19 -- To the Editor:
I want to express my sincere appreciation to the citizens of Maine House District 2 for your participation in the primary on June 12. The steady stream of voters at the polls was reaffirming evidence that democracy is alive and well in Eliot, South Berwick, and Kittery. I am honored to have earned your confidence in my candidacy and grateful for your support as we move toward a victory in the November general election.
A big thank you to my campaign team whose time, encouragement, enthusiasm, and energy was generously given. I look forward to working with you on the second leg of this journey to the Maine House of Representatives. I have been humbled by endorsements from District 1 Representative Deane Rykerson, the Maine People’s Alliance, Equality Maine, and Moms Demand Action.
My gratitude as well to my worthy opponent, Kimberly Richards. Campaigning is difficult work and her efforts brought many voters to the polls. I admire Kim’s perseverance and willingness to put herself forward, ready to serve the people of our community. We’ve met since the primary and I know I can count on Kim to assist me in delivering a win for Democrats in November.
To all of you I spoke with at your doors, in your yards, on your porches, and around your kitchen tables -- I thank you. I have heard you. Your candor, questions, concerns, and hopes for a better Maine have touched, informed, and inspired me. Your primary vote for me signals your belief that I will do my very best for you and your family as your Representative in Augusta. I am honored by your support and look forward to speaking with you again before the important upcoming midterm election on Nov. 6.
